Summer may be over, but that doesn't mean our outdoor adventures have to come to an end! The winter brings with it a whole new glistening world to explore, and Ontario has some beautiful snowy paradises to venture through. Escape the city and take a trip out to the vast, snow-covered countryside this year. Ontario Arrowhead Provincial Park's winter wonderland is an enchanting place to see, and it has tons of fun activities to keep you warm!

Each winter, Arrowhead Provincial Park transforms into a frosty paradise, allowing guests to have a whole different experience from their summertime visits. You can explore snow-topped hills and white forests, as well as partake in some cold-weather events. Located about two and a half hours from Toronto, this park is the perfect winter getaway!

The park boasts 28 km worth of stunning cross-country ski trails, available from beginner level to expert. You can also adventure down 8 km of snowshoe paths, and even go off-trail into the forest for more adventurous types. Hiking is also an option for those who want to explore the area on their own two feet. The Visitor's Centre provides a cozy place to warm up, with a crackling fireplace and lots of room to enjoy lunch after your cold-weather adventures.

Arrowhead's 1.3 km ice rink trail winds through an enchanting forest, and you can't leave the park without experiencing it! On select nights, the trails are lit with hundreds of tiki torches, allowing you to drift through a flickering winter wonderland under the stars.

Another unique activity is winter tubing! You can speed down snowy slopes in these inflated tubes for the ultimate winter adrenaline rush. Tubes are provided by the park and are included in the entry pass. Enjoy the open fire pit on top of the hill after your adventure! Equipment such as skate, snowshoes, and skis are available to rent at the park.
