Ontario doesn't always get the best reputation across Canada. Most Canadians think of Ontario as the province with our largest, most bustling city and that's all that we have to offer. But that couldn't be further from the truth!
Ontario is more than just the city of Toronto, we also have an abundance of nature from hidden waterfalls and boardwalk trails to sparkling lakes and white sandy beaches. If you want to take a trip to a tropical destination without leaving the great province of Ontario then you need to escape to Pancake Bay Provincial Park this summer!
Pancake Bay is a massive 3 km stretch of white sandy beach that sits on the shores of some of the most turquoise water in Ontario! Pancake Bay Provincial Park is located on Lake Superior in Algoma Country which is about an 8-hour drive from Toronto.
If you're looking for a secluded and stunning spot for camping and getting back in touch with nature this summer, Pancake Bay is definitely the place.
There are tons of things to do while you're in Pancake Bay Provincial Park but we highly recommend the 14 km Lookout Trail that will lead you to a high point in the park where you'll get surreal views of the beach and turquoise water below!
If you're not up for the 14 km trek, there's also the Pancake Bay Nature Trail which is short 3.5 km. You can enjoy camping and swimming while you're here as well!
