You Can Fly Directly From Ottawa To Germany Starting Next Year
Flights to Frankfurt are coming soon.
Adventure is waiting for you! If you're looking to head out to Germany sometime next year, Lufthansa has announced that it will be operating out of yet another Canadian city. Lufthansa will be offering flights on its new Ottawa-Frankfurt route starting next year. So start planning your next trip now.
Lufthansa announced today in a press release that it will be opening up Europe to even more Canadians as it will soon start offering flights out of Ottawa in 2020.
The Ottawa-Frankfurt route will be seasonal, which means you'll only be able to fly with Lufthansa to Germany during the summer season.
"We have been serving Canada for over six decades and the ongoing expansion of our airlines flying to the region, especially the addition of the new Ottawa – Frankfurt route, underscores the Lufthansa Group's ever-increasing commitment to the Canadian market, its economy, and our customers," said Hans DeHaan, senior director of sales Canada for Lufthansa Group, in a press release.
While the flights will only be offered in the summer, that's not as short as you may think. In fact, Lufthansa's summer is actually five months long, which means you have plenty of time to take advantage of this direct flight.
The new route will be in operation from May 16, 2020, to October 24, 2020. With flights available five times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
These flights will always be scheduled to depart from Ottawa at 5:50 p.m. and are scheduled to depart from Frankfurt at 1:45 p.m local time.
The planes flying out of Ottawa will have business class, premium economy, and economy class seats and will be able to accommodate 279 passengers.
Frankfurt has a population of about 5.6 million people and is seen as Germany's most international city.
Lufthansa currently operates in four Canadian cities - Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary - with Ottawa becoming the fifth.
