Now that the warmer weather is rolling in, it's time to make some adventure plans. Ontario has got hundreds of stunning provincial parks to explore all season. You can wander through underground tunnels full of minerals while visiting Silver Queen Mine Trail.

You can find the mine while visiting Murphy's Point Provincial Park near Perth, Ontario. It's about a 4-hour drive out of Toronto, so you may want to camp while visiting the grounds.

Once you're there, you'll be able to sign up for one of their guided tours of an old mine from the early 1900s.

It was in operation from 1903 to 1920, according to Ontario Parks. The mine mainly produced mica, which is a sparkling mineral that was used in car parts and electronics, as well as other industries.

However, the mine has several different minerals of all sorts of colours that you can see protruding through the walls.

The tour is a 1.5 hour guided hike of the mine's interior and takes you 20 metres underground.

It is available three times a week in July and August. Visit their website to learn more about how to explore the mine. It's a good idea to preregistered because sometimes they get to capacity. Check out the dates here

The entrance is a lush green pit with abundant moss & leaves growing all over.

To get into the mine you will descend through a boardwalk with handrails and make your way deep through the trail.

The glimmering mineral deposits of mica and emerald green apatite will surround you as you make your way through the tunnels.

The climate is wet and cool near the mine, which is what makes the plants here thrive, according to Ontario Parks.

Definitely worth a visit for all those history and nature lovers.
