Looking for a fun way to beat the heat this summer? Float your troubles away at Saugeen Springs R.V. Park, Ontario’s premier destination for lazy-river tubing!
Situated along a stretch of the Saugeen River that cuts through the town of Hanover, Ontario, the outdoor resort combines the relaxing experience of lazy-river tubing with the excitement of nature camping. The river itself typically flows at a nice and slow current, so it’s safe (and totally relaxing) to float on.
There are two main tubing runs to choose from. The short run lasts around 45 minutes, and the long run lasts about 2 hours. Park staff will give visitors instructions on where to start and end each run, as well as where they can park their vehicles.
According to the resort's website, the most ideal time for tubing at the Saugeen River is during the summer months between late June and Labour Day weekend. However, the park does not rent to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays of long weekends, so it may be best to go during the week.
Visitors can choose to bring their own tubes, or rent some on site with accompanying life jackets at $25 for the entire day. There are also river kayaks with paddles available to rent at $30 a day, if you’re looking for a more physical adventure.
