This Breathtaking Nordic Spa In Alberta Is About To Be Added To Your Bucket List

Because who doesn't love a little R&R?!

You no longer have to travel to Northern Europe to experience an authentic, Nordic-styled spa.

Kananaskis Nordic Spa, Alberta’s first scandinavian retreat, is open and eager for you to bask in their world-class facilities. Located about 45 minutes southwest of Calgary, the 50,000 square feet space instantly relaxes you the moment you arrive; the location surrounded by a peaceful backdrop of the rocky mountains.

There are endless features and facilities at the Kananaskis Nordic Spa, which includes three outdoor pools (with temperatures of hot, warm and cold), outdoor heated hammocks, saunas and steam cabins, a meditation labyrinth, fireside lounges, and a 30-person yoga studio that also features comfortable yoga hammocks.

If it already seems too good to be true, it's about to get even better. Also included in the spa is their massage treatment that's complete with panoramic-windowed rooms and a view above the alpine treeline. These kinds of massage therapy include aromatherapy and deep tissue treatments - and honestly, I'm pretty sure my joints have relaxed by just the sound of that.

Also included in the lodge is their cozy bistro lounge, where you can gather with friends and experience the complete and best wellness that is food.

The eatery's menu is 100% Canadian-sourced and offers wine, craft beer, herbal tea, sharing platters and small plates, and espresso drinks. After your stomach is full, consider relaxing at one of their heated lounge chairs, which also features personal music stations - because why not, right?!

The spa is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 9 pm. It is based on a first-come, first served basis - so no appointments are necessary for day admission. You can also look into their mountain lodge for overnight retreats.
