This Is The Best Day To Buy Plane Tickets - And It's Not Cyber Monday
Move over, Black Friday 👊
If you're looking at booking your winter holiday soon, you'll want to dig out your credit card tomorrow. It's the best day of the year to buy flights, according to experts.
If you're looking to bag the best travel deals, the best time to shop isn't Thanksgiving, Black Friday or Cyber Monday - it's Travel Tuesday. Which happens to be tomorrow, November 27th. The sweet spot between holidays is when people like to book their winter travel, and the deals are incredible.
According to travel app Hopper, Travel Tuesday - the Tuesday after American Thanksgiving - has historically low ticket prices, even for Canadian travellers. They also revealed that the savings get going at around 6:30 AM, reaching their peak at 9:30 AM. Researchers believe discounts are higher at this time because most travellers have already booked their holiday tickets over the weekend.
Hopper collects 10 to 15 billion airfare price quotes every day and found that there are loads more deals available the day after Cyber Monday.
Last year, they observed more than double the normal fare sale activity on Travel Deal Tuesday. In 2015, they saw fare sale activity spike six times the normal amount.
Hopper states that flights from the US to Central and South America are in the $300-$400 range, flights to the UK and Europe are in the $500s, and even more cities as well as many in Asia for $600 to $750. Deals are bound to be similar from Canadian destinations - especially Toronto and Vancouver.
Like Black Friday, early morning is the best time to score deals, so set your alarms!
