When you're visiting The Happiest Place on Earth, you want to come prepared - park items are pricey! From a cozy sweater to snacks and a reusable water bottle, we've got you covered. Here are the most necessary things to bring to Disneyland for a magical day at the park.
Matching Disney Shirts
Who doesn't want to take cute, matching pics with your BFF or SO? Bringing (or buying) your own matching Disney shirts is so fun.
Lanyards for Your Tickets
Lanyards are cheap to buy and you won't have to worry about losing your precious Disneyland park tickets. You can buy them online before you arrive to save money or snag one at the park. It's also a convenient place to store your FastPasses while roaming around eating churros.
Since you've got to try some of the park's sweet confectionaries, why not bring some healthy alternatives to balance it out? Pita chips and hummus, sliced fruit, unsalted nuts, and granola bars are good picks. Nothing's worse than waiting forty-five minutes for Space Mountain and suddenly realizing you're hungry.
A Collapsible or Reusable Water Bottle
Make sure to bring along your collapsible, reusable water bottle. This is a great way to stay hydrated and avoid single-use plastics. Disneyland has free water fountains where you can refill when you need to. Plus, it could save you a couple of dollars a pop.
If you plan on going on any of the water rides (Splash Mountain, we're looking at you), then we highly recommend you bring a rain poncho along. You won't have to walk around with a wet backside for hours. Make sure to get a hooded one in case it rains.
Sunscreen and Hand Sanitizer
Chances are, you're going to be spending a long day at the parks. Make sure to pack smart and bring sunscreen to protect your skin. Summer days in southern California can get scorching hot! It's also a good idea to bring some hand sanitizer along.
Skip the squinting and bring along your sunglasses. It's a good idea to bring along a cheap, plastic pair you don't care too much about. That way, if you accidentally lose them, it's not the end of the world.
During the summertime, you might also want to bring a hat to block out some of the sunshine. Plus, a cute Disney baseball cap will really stand out in your photos.
Your Favorite Pair of Minnie Ears
This one's a no-brainer. You can't leave your fave pair of glittery ears at home. There are so many fun memories to capture! Who doesn't want to take a selfie in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle?
A Light Jacket or Sweater for the Night
Even in southern California, it can get a little chilly during the nights at Disneyland. Make sure to pack a light jacket or sweater, so you can stay cozy when temperatures drop.
Wireless Phone Charger
This is a good way to make sure your phone stays charged throughout your visit and you have plenty of juice in your battery to make calls, send texts, and take all the photos you want.
Autograph Book and Pen
If you, your friends, or kids want autographs from characters, it's a lot cheaper to bring your own book to sign and pen into the park. You can ask any character for a free autograph and picture. It's a fun souvenir!
Small Backpack with Water Bottle Holders
Last but certainly not least, you're going to need a small backpack to hold your things. Try to pick the one you know is comfortable and has plenty of space. Water bottle holders on the sides are always a plus. Disneyland rides have mesh pockets where guests can store purses, small backpacks, and other items while they're having fun. If you're looking to pick one up at the parks, there are so many cute Disney holiday items to snag.
