Florida views are unbeatable and magical from many different angles. This historic lighthouse features a wonderful view from atop that will transport any traveler back in time. Hillsboro Lighthouse is a historic site between Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton on the northside of Hillsboro Inlet.
The lighthouse is a tourist attraction accessible from the road but tour dates vary which is why it is important to keep up frequently with their website. The next tour will take place on September 14 with seven shuttle boats leaving from Sands Dock.
Sail times are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with one hour round trip. It is recommended that guests arrive at the respective dock to the Sands approximately 30 minutes later.
The lighthouse dates all the way back to the early 1900s, currently located on a coast guard base. You can also see the lighthouse from the park across the inlet.
Visitors need to wear closed-toe footwear prior to climbing the stairs of the lighthouse. Due to the conditions of the lighthouse, visitors are not allowed to touch any switches or open any windows. However, the view from the top is worth the climb.
