Florida is home to so many little hidden gems that make you feel like you’re abroad without ever leaving the states. Being surrounded by water and near the equator allows for a variety of plant and wildlife to flourish here. These gardens in Sarasota truly showcase this - making you feel as though you’re traversing a tropical jungle right here in Florida.

The jungle trails wind you through the thriving tropical forest, making you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Florida’s little Jungle is also home to over 200 native and exotic animals such as various species of macaw and parrots, lizards, primates, and most notably - Flamingos. The pink yoga posing birds freely roam the park. You can feed them straight from your hand as they come up to greet you - along with other birds like ducks, swans, and pelicans that like to pass through too.
They host daily animal shows as well as offer animal encounters; You can hold a macaw or parrot during your visit - or a snake or alligator if you're feeling brave. If you want to make it an all-day trip, they also have The Flamingo Cafe on site for you to grab a bite to eat - where you can also feed koi fish.
The Sarasota Jungle Gardens cost $17.99 for an adult day ticket, with seniors over 65 getting a $1.00 off admission. Children aged 4-16 get in for $12.99, or free if under 4. They also offer annual adult passes for $49.99 or family passes for $64.99 (2 adults & 2 children) if you need a frequent place to disconnect and be closer to nature alone or with family.
