There is a hidden paradise nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Matanzas River. Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is a 425-acre area covered in scenic trails and live oaks. There is so much to see and to do at this gorgeous state park, you will never want to leave!
The park has the most amazing coastal scenery along State Road A1A and holds the most picturesque boulder-strewn beach landscape. These massive chunks of rocks will give your pictures the proper panoramic view.
The state park is the perfect place to relax and take a stroll before the sunset. During your visit, you will encounter towering live oaks, hickory and magnolia trees with comfortable shade within 20 acres of formal gardens.
One of the most impressive things at the park is a massive oak tree with tons of curved and convulated branches that makes it the perfect place to meditate and relax under. The place is very popular among locals for wedding, graduation and birthday photo shoots.
You will also notice a rose garden path with stunning, engraved bricks. You can purchase a brick engraved with your name, your partner's name, or both and even plan a proposal at this natural setting. The walkway already has 75 bricks and is a great project to beautify the park.
You can also reserve one of their locations for the perfect dream wedding backdrop. The park features a gazebo, octagon, old oak tree, stage, visitor center and beach for the perfect ceremony.
The park is open daily from 8 am until sundown and the entrance fee is $5 per vehicle or $4 for a single occupant vehicle. Pedestrians and bikers just pay $2.
Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is located at 6400 North Oceanshore Blvd, Palm Coast, FL 32137.
