For us Georgia folks, we get excited when March starts rolling around because that means one thing: cherry blossom season. Macon is the Cherry Blossom capital of the world and we are very thankful. When it comes to choosing the Georgia festivals in 2020 you want to go to, this 10-day fest should be on your radar.
The International Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, Georgia will be back from March 27 to April 5 this year and we can't wait. Each year over 350,000 Yoshino cherry trees bloom in the city and there is pink everywhere.
Over the past years that this festival has gone on, it has been named in the top 20 events in the South, the top 50 events in the U.S. and the top 100 events in North America, according to the official website.
There are a lot of activities going on within these 10 days, so the best way to start your visit is by exploring the Cherry Blossom Trail.
This is a self-guided walk that will take you all along the route of these trees so you can get the full experience.
If you absolutely fall in love with these trees and can't imagine not having them in your own yard, you can actually purchase a tree for just $10.
Aside from the trees, the festival will feature all different types of shows, live music, games, pink-colored food and drinks, a parade, and even a Weiner dog race.
The other popular spot at the festival is the amusement park that will feature all your favorite fair rides and even have concessions with the best snacks and fried food.
