Georgia is known for being hot and humid 99.9% of the year and Georgians are always trying to find spots to cool down pretty much until November. The great thing about our state is that it is known for its amazing waterfalls and State Parks that are amazing for exploring. Here's Georgia's official waterfalls road trip guide to some of the best waterfalls in the entire state with some of the best hikes to go along with it. You should hit all of these spots before the weather changes so you can get in and enjoy the water.

Cochran Mill Park

Price: $5 for parking

Address: 6875 Cochran Mill Rd., Palmetto, GA 30268

Why You Need To Go: This park has over 18 miles of trails that go deep into the forest. There are multiple waterfalls to see at this location as well. 


Cascade Springs Nature Preserve Trail

Price: Free

Address: 2852 Cascade Rd., Atlanta, GA 30311

Why You Need To Go: You will see Civil War trenches and spots on this trail and you will be lead to a cascading waterfall that is right in front of a secret tunnel.


Sitton's Gulch Trail at Cloudland Canyon 

Price: $5 for parking 

Address: 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Rd., Rising Fawn, GA 30738

Why You Need To Go: Even though this is a challenging hike and trail, you will go into the deep depths of the canyon floor and see beautiful waterfalls you can actually swim in. 


Tempesta Falls

Price: $5 for parking

Address: 338 Jane Hurt Yarn Rd., Tallulah Falls, GA 30573

Why You Need To Go: On this specific trail, you will not be treking up stairs or hiking very far at Tallulah Gorge. There are five overlooks to look at the gorge and Tempesta Falls.


Keown Falls

Price: Free

Address: Keown Falls, GA 30728

Why You Need To Go: This is an easy and fun hike for everyone in your group. There is a trickling waterfall at the end of the first part of your hike and you can go behind it. 


Helton Creek Falls 

Price: Free

Address: US Highway 129 South Blairsville, GA 30512 

Why You Need To Go: You only have to walk 0.3-miles this entire trip! You will be greeted by two cascading waterfalls. The bottom of the second waterfall is a huge blue pool that you can get in. 



 

Lula Lake & Falls

Price: $15

Address: 5000 Lula Lake Rd., Lookout Mountain, GA

Why You Need To Go: This trail will take you to a clear, emerald green pool of water, followed by a huge waterfall.
