It's almost Halloween so that means it's your last chance to catch all the autumn vibes and create something spooky. Now that it's finally starting to feel like fall in Georgia, it's the perfect time to take a little trip to this North Georgia pumpkin patch with massive 150-pound pumpkins. If you want even crazier views, the farm offers a hayride near the gorgeous Amicalola Falls that's sure to be a breathtaking experience.
Burt's Farm in Dawsonville, Georgia has been around since the 1800s and has since expanded into an autumn wonderland selling 50 to 70 acres of pumpkins, including some that weigh a whopping 150 pounds. That's bigger than some full-grown humans! And yes, you can take them home with you. The massive pumpkins range from $30 to $60 but you can get pumpkins of all sizes because they have thousands to choose from.
Of course a pumpkin patch is not a pumpkin patch without hayrides, however, Burt's doesn't do your average wagon ride. The scenic stroll only costs $6 and takes you to a mountaintop with a gorgeous glimpse of the notorious Amicalola Falls. The 2-mile straw-filled wagon ride passes through the woods and around gigantic fields with thousands of pumpkins and over 8,000 zinnia flowers. You'll also pass through a covered bridge bridge with "singing pumpkins" that you just have to see.
The family-owned farm uses their fresh homegrown crops to create delicious treats that you must take home with you, including pumpkin bread, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin pies and jellies.
You can also munch on candied popcorn and boiled peanuts or sip hot cocoa as you explore the massive farm.
In addition to the plethora of pumpkins, the farm also grows other fall vegetables like butternut squash, which is chock full of vitamins and nutrients. They use juices from the squash to make shampoo, conditioner, body wash and other skin care products that you can purchase at the farm.
Unfortunately, there is no petting zoo here but you can find one at this pumpkin patch in Woodstock.
Address: 5 Burts Pumpkin Farm Rd, Dawsonville, GA 30534
