Besides swimming in the lake, this location is close to many destinations that you will want to visit while you are there. Only 23-miles down the road you will find Brasstown Bald. This is the tallest mountain in Georgia standing at 4,784 feet above sea-level. At the top of the mountain, you will get a 360-degree view of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Helen, Georgia is also right down the road. You can explore the little German-themed town and hike a small trail up to twin waterfalls for only $3. It is a great adventure that will not tire you out for the rest of the day.
After your days of adventuring, you can come back to Lake Winfield Scott and camp. There are 31 campsites for tent and RV camping. There is also one cabin that can sleep up to 12 people.
