North Georgia is known for having so many things to do. No matter what part you visit, you will have a long list of adventures and destinations you want to see. Southeastern Adventures is one of those spots and you will get your adrenaline pumping on the Chattanooga River.
Southeastern Adventures is located on the Chattanooga River in Northeast Georgia. There are many activities that you can partake in at this location. It is a great trip for the thrill-seekers or those who want to get out of their comfort zone.
Not only can you go white water rafting, but there are clinics for those who want to just kayak or canoe on the rapids. Whatever activity you choose, you will have a full day, or weekend, of fun.
Southeastern Adventures was actually the original white water rafting company in the entire southeast. The filming of the movie Deliverance (1972) kicked off this river's popularity and it has not stopped since.
The lower section of the river is where your adventure begins. Depending on your experience, you can choose from three trips. Here, there is Section III, which is more calm rapids, and Section IV, crazy and wild rapids. Your third option is purchasing the overnight package where you will experience both sections and spend the night on this amazing property.
When you visit, you can take kayak and canoeing instructional courses and then take on the rapids yourself. No matter if you are an advanced or beginner on the river, there is a course for you.
If you are a beginner, you will learn all you need to know about the class II and III rapids (AKA the calmer ones). These instructional courses are great if you are looking to learn a new skill, or if you are with a group of your best friends and you want to do something out of the ordinary.
While these activities might seem a little scary and intense, the rafting guides go through extensive training and are CPR and First Aid certified.
If you are looking for more North Georgia adventures, you have to journey to this spot that has over 60 obstacle and zipline courses that will make your heart rate skyrocket. You can even use your new kayaking skills to go on the open waters in Dawsonville, GA to get through this dark mine tunnel that is a quarter of a mile long.
