Tallulah Gorge is known for its enormous gorge you can actually walk through, and the 80-foot swinging bridge that you have to walk across during your hike. If you are not into hiking, you can still see the gorge from this spot that is the only free roadside view that is located at the Tallulah Point Overlook.
Located near the state park, you can view Tallulah Gorge and its beauty from two different spots, and after that, you can visit the retro store that will make you feel nostalgic and take you back to your childhood.
On the back of the building, you will see a covered porch that has benches and rocking chairs you can sit on while looking out to the scenery that you do not get to see every day.
If that is not close enough for you, you can go out to the viewing scope to get up close and personal with the Gorge.
You will get the perfect view of the bottom, and the tops of the mountains without the 3-mile hike to the scenery that is not the easiest, climbing over 1,000 stairs.
On a nice, warm, summer day, head down to the viewing platforms and stay there a while, it is free you know.
The store, the Tallulah Point Overlook, that is at this location is just another great part of this spot. You can expect to see little knick knacks like tin toys, homemade soaps, candles, birdhouses, and other locally made products.
There are old-school RC sodas and glass soda cans that you can purchase to drink, or take selfies with.
You can even grab some ice cream, like strawberry, mint chocolate chip, vanilla, or chocolate, while you are at it and enjoy it on the back porch.
You can find this spot near the Tallulah Gorge and it is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
