The great thing about living in Georgia is that we are close to so many great states. Florida and South Carolina have the best beaches and Tennesee has some of the prettiest mountains. If you live in city, Tennesee is just a few hours away which makes for a great day trip or quick weekend getaway from Atlanta. Even better when you're traveling to new attractions near Atlanta that are worth the drive.
Pigeon Forge, Tennesee is just a quick four-hour drive from Atlanta. Not only does Pigeon Forge have so many activities and beautiful sights to see (especially in the fall) the drive there is one of the most scenic ones you will take.
In the heart of this pretty city is good ole Paula Deen's Lumberjack Feud Show and Adventure Park. This park itself is worth the drive, and they just added a zip line rollercoaster.
The Flying Ox is the hottest new attraction and is something we promise you have never seen or experienced before. This ride has combined aspects of a rollercoaster and a zip lining adventure into one thrilling coaster.
You will start by leaping off a platform that is 80-feet in the air. The entire ride is 1,000-feet long and filled with screams and laughs.
The line will take you through twists and turns while you are dangling from a harness. It pushes about 15 mph and will drop you just like a coaster.
The Adventure Park has so many other activities that you can explore while you are there, like rope courses and more jumping zip lines.
There are many fun adventures and trips you can go on that are outside of Georgia, but not too far. There is even a huge wine festival coming up located in Chattanooga that is just across the state border.
