If Georgia is good at one thing, it's having amazing land to create beautiful gardens and lakes. There are many botanical gardens in Georgia and each one has something different to offer. In North Georgia, near the Southern Appalachian Mountains, you will find a 33-acre paradise with incredible views of mountains and a massive reflective lake.

Hamilton Gardens at Lake Chatuge is located in Hiawassee, Georgia in the mountains. The gardens are home to over 3,000 plants. If you are wanting to take a nice fall stroll without having to hike through elevations, this is the spot for you.

Lake Chatuge is a beautiful spot to visit in itself. You will feel like you are in another world when you're at this destination. The entire lake and location are surrounded by mountains which make for a gorgeous background.

This botanical garden has the largest collection of rhododendrons in the entire southeast. You would never know this spot existed because it is so off the beaten path.

You go to gardens to get tranquility, and that is just what you will get. The Dogwood trees will canopy over you as you walk through the wooded, mulched trails.

There are about five trails you can take during your visit. The Courey Shoreline Trail is located right on the edge of Lake Chatuge which makes for a great view as you observe the flowers that bloom here.

Some plants you might see here are tulip magnolias, native azaleas, lady slippers, trilliums and rhododendrons.

The best part is, it is only $2 to enter and $5 for families. You will get access to the greenhouses, each of the gardens and all of the trails on the property. It is a great spot to relax while having amazing mountain top views.

This area is also home to the mountain with the highest point in Georgia where you can see four different states.
