When it comes to Georgia, we're probably best known for our peaches and pecans. However, you may not realize that the Peach State is also home to the famous Vidalia onion. That's exactly why one of the most interesting food festivals in Georgia happens in the south of the state.

It's the Vidalia Onion Festival in Vidalia, Georgia, and it's coming back for its 43rd year in a row. For more than four decades, this small town in South Georgia has been celebrating it's world-famous onion, and you can join in on the fun too.

From a boozy wing fest to a massive Greek food fest, Georgia isn't any stranger to out-of-the-ordinary culinary celebrations. But with so much going on at this festival, this Vidalia onion event is about to take things to the next level.

There will be tons of activities happening during fest, which will be taking place from April 23 to 26. There's also a street dance and Concert in downtown Vidalia that you just can't miss.

You'll also want to check out the pageants, the arts and craft sho and the Vidalia onion recipe contest and public tasting. Yes, it will be just as delicious as it sounds.

Perhaps the biggest draw, though, will be the carnival. Ride tickets cost $1 per ride if you buy them individually. You can also get 18 tickets for $15 or daily unlimited wristbands for $25.

If you're feeling hungry or thirsty, make sure you check out the food vendors there. Don't worry—there's more than just raw onions. You can find all your festival favorites like funnel cake and cotton candy as well as a variety of fun, tropical drinks.

If you're looking for the tastiest way to spend a spring weekend in Georgia, this festival is definitely something you'll want to check out.
