It's officially fall this week but we're in Georgia, so (needless to say), it doesn't feel like it. With the temps rising back up to the 90s this week, we can expect the sweltering heat to linger a bit longer. Although we may be eager for the crisp fall air, at least we still have an excuse to splash in the water. This 4-tier waterfall near Georgia is the perfect mini roadtrip to wrap up summer and savor the last bit of heat.
Cummins Falls State Park in Tennessee has a massive 75-foot waterfall on the Blackburn Fork State Scenic River. The waterfall wonderland is in Jackson County and is only a (totally worthwhile) 3-hour drive from Atlanta. The scenic and magical attraction is Tennesee's eighth largest waterfall, so it's a must-see for both locals and tourists.
Throw on your swimsuits, pack a cooler and spend a day (or two) soaking up the sun and immersing yourself in the stacked water-filled fun. It's the absolute perfect mini vacay for you and your besties in Georgia's neighboring state. Bring your furry friends to this dog-friendly landmark and camp (or glamp) nearby if you want to make a weekend of it!
Consider yourself warned that it's not the easiest hike to access the falls, but the effort is 100% worth the rewards you'll reap. Let's be real, the harder you work for something, the better it feels to achieve it.
Although strenuous, the two paths that lead you to the falls and swimming gorge are super short. One trail is only one mile while the other is 1.5 miles. We recommend that you scope out the website to review everything you need to know before you go, including the important notes on safety.
You def don't need to spend a fortune to venture to Hawaii for amazing falls, because there are so many right here in Georgia and surrounding states that are easily accessible. For more of these incredible adventures, check out this 100-foot Georgia waterfall with no hike required or the two hidden waterfalls at the bottom of this canyon.
