Everyone in Georgia always talks about road tripping to the beach, but there's a world that's waiting to be explored outside the sand and seashells. Just four and half hours outside of Atlanta is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that involves snuggling up to one of nature's most misunderstood creatures. This wolf sanctuary near Georgia lets you get up close and personal with wolves, and you might even walk away with a few kisses.
Seacrest Wolf Preserve in Chipley, Florida is home to an abundance of Gray and Arctic wolves that are awaiting human interaction. You have two options when it comes to visiting them: the group tour and the VIP tour.
The $35 group tour allows you and up to 200 other people the opportunity to enter the wolf habitat for two to three hours while learning all about their lives and plights in the wild.
The wolves will wind their way among the group, giving you the chance to reach out and pet them.
The downside is that cellphones aren't allowed on the group tours, so you'll either need to bring a disposable camera or purchase the photo package for an additional $35.
If you're looking for a more intimate experience, you can upgrade to VIP. These private tours are one-on-one, full of plenty of wolf snuggles, and allows you to capture all the best moments on camera.
It's a completely worthwhile experience, but it might be something you have to save for. The VIP tour is $250 for two people, but it makes for the ultimate surprise or gift.
Each tour includes the option of a small animal encounter, where you'll meet raccoons and foxes. Anyone on the group tour can also luck out and hug a few skunks.
All tours require a reservation, so be sure to schedule one on their website before you pack your bags.
