Louisiana is such a unique and cool state that people from all over the world want to visit. This means tourists all year round, and while they're busy with the basic attractions, you will be scoping out the hidden gems and less busy areas of the state. This nature trail in Louisiana gives you a great taste of LA without all the people.

The Creole Nature Trail is located just a little away from Lake Charles, Lousiana. It's surrounded by a whopping 26 miles of beach with many trails and other things to do besides walking on the sand. This is just a part of the famous 180-mile Creole Nature Trail All-American Road.

There are opportunities to fish, hunt, hike and even shell hunt without all the hustle and bustle of people and the city. This is the perfect place to come for a weekend to get away from it all.

This part of Louisiana is untouched and untamed by man, for the most part. You'll be getting natural beaches and swamp areas that you can't really get anywhere else.

One very popular activity is "shelling" because there are so many on this stretch of beach. This is not like collecting shells as a kid; these shells are much cooler. It's also more fun to find them when there aren't 100 other people around.

You need to start your journey at Adventure Point because it will give you background information about what types of animals live here, and get a feel for the Cajun culture before you head on your way.

Instead of walking the over 26-mile trail, there are a few shorter trails you can take. The Blue Goose Trail is only a mile and is a paved walking trail.

You need to take this if you want a chance to see the wildlife in their natural habitats, and there is even an observation tower so you can get a better view of the area.

To see some more hidden and off the beaten path spots, you need to head to these abandoned places throughout the state that will send chills up your spine and these cheap romantic spots that are total rom-com goals.
