Many visitors come to nab a fish or two from the Roaring River since it is one of three state parks that has rainbow trout.

If you want to make a whole weekend out of the Roaring River State Park, you can choose to spend the night, for the park has many camping and sleeping options.

Roaring River was formed thousands of years ago from being a part of the White River. The flat plateau was eroded after many years, leaving behind deep valleys, gorges, and an incredible amount of different rock formations.

The Roaring River Spring is undeniably the most photogenic natural feature of the park, and you have to go see it for yourself. The natural spring lies in a deep "canyonlike gorge" among green, mossy cliffs.

Over 20 million gallons of bright blue water flow out of the spring every day, and it always stays at a cool 57-degrees.

You can even spot fish swimming through the spring's crystal clear water, making it look like a spot you might find a mermaid or some buried treasure!
