As soon as the weather warms up a few degrees and you start sweating a bit when you walk outside, you'll know its time to go adventuring. The state of North Carolina has so many places to explore and once everyone is able to go out again, this secret spot should be on your list of things to do. This short hike in North Carolina takes you to a mesmerizing swimming hole.
Paradise Falls in Tuckasegee, North Carolina doesn't take too long to hike to, but it sure is challenging. The reward isthat's hidden deep in a ravine below Wolf Creek Lake.
Not only is there a waterfall, but there are two swimming holes at this location that'll cool you down on a hot NC summer day that you're allowed to get in.
The hikeand there are two different ways to get down to the waterfall. Depending on your skill level, you can take the easier route, or the even more difficult route.
To start your journey on the easier trail you'll head from the parking lot to the path near the back of the church.
The trail will quickly drop down to a river and you'll have to cross it (don't wear your best shoes). You'll run right into the top of Paradise Falls.
With the more difficult hike, you'll head straight down from the parking lot into the wooded forest. This trail will eventually lead you to the bottom of the falls.
There are two swimming holes here: one at the top and one at the bottom. These holes are filled with freezing cold, clear water that'll make you want to jump right in. There's even a few cliffs you can jump off of if you're feeling even more adventurous.
You can even explore the areas and river all around the falls and set yourself up a picnic before you trek back to the parking lot.
There's also a rope swing on one of the many cliffs at the waterfall that you can swing on and drop right into the deep swimming hole.
