Wings and beer are a pairing that is unmatched and cannot be touched. There's an event in Asheville that is dedicated just to chicken wings. This $1 wing festival in North Carolina is happening this weekend and you can't miss it.
Asheville Wing War is back on March 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be up to 15 restaurants participating and cooking up their best wings for you to chow down on.
If you're a hot wing connoisseur, you'll probably want to be in attendance at this one-day event. Each spot will prepare either spicy wings or their specialty wings with a variety of flavors.
In the end, after you've tried all the wings you can handle, you get to judge which local spot is your all-time favorite.
There will be a live band playing tunes all-day and ice-cold beer available for purchase. It doesn't get much better than wings, alcohol and music does it?
General admission tickets are only $25 and it includes your first ten "cluck bucks." You can use these bucks as cash inside the event, cha-ching.
Once you run out of bucks, you can purchase wings for $1 or $2, depending on the vendor.
In 2019, a few vendors included Brinehaus Meat + Provisions (who won the traditional category), Out of the Blue Peruvian Fusion Cuisine, The Barrelhouse and Mojo Kitchen & Lounge.
There are only about 130 tickets remaining for the event and ticket sales end March 7.
If there is one festival you go to all year, this might be the one you want to invest in because of all the different flavor options you will have.
