There are tons of opportunities to observe and interact with real-life animals, but things are about to get a bit more pre-historic. You can travel back to the Mesozoic era all spring and summer with this interactive dinosaur exhibit at the Memphis Zoo. Of all the things to do in Memphis in spring 2020, this outdoor adventure may just be the wildest.
The dinosaur exhibit premiered at Memphis Zoo in 2012 and is back by popular demand this year. On February 29, dinosaurs invaded the zoo and they are here to stay until July 5.
Visitors can venture through a Jurassic Park-style experience filled with realistic dinosaurs.
"Even though dinosaurs are extinct, there is plenty to learn from them. Visitors will be able to walk through a wooded trail and experience life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs," says Amanda Moses, Public Relations Specialist at Memphis Zoo.
This time-travel excursion lets you discover robotic versions of Pachycephalosaurus, Diabloceratops, Triceratops, Pachyrinosaurus, Suchomimus, Megalosaurus and more.
As you immerse yourself in a world of ancient creatures, you'll discover the science and history behind their existence.
Amanda told Narcity that guests will learn about how many of these dinosaurs relate to the animals you can see today.
Tickets are only $5 for non-members and $4 for members, so you can get lost in a land of pre-historic fun for a super affordable price.
The exhibit is found across from the giraffe feeding deck so after you discover the past, you can snap back to reality get up-close-and-personal with these real-life African animals.
Additional seasonal exhibits include the hands-on stingray cove and camel excursion.
