When you're just trying to get outdoors and relax, we don't want to hike miles and miles to get that sense of tranquility. Tennessee has many spots with short hikes that take you to pretty spectacular places where you can spend hours. This short hike in Tennessee will take you to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the entire state.
Ozone Falls is located in Cumberland County in Tennessee and is highly visited, with good reason. The falls plunge over 110 feet into a deep pool of water filled with rocks; it just looks like something right out of a movie.
To get to the falls, it's only a 0.3-mile hike and you're there. This waterfall was also featured in the 1993 Jungle Book film because of its beauty, so technically, it really did come out a movie.
Whether you're an experienced hiker or just beginning, you'll find yourself actually enjoying this experience and trek. This spot is close to Interstate-40, so it can be heavily trafficked at times, but it's still worth the trip at least once.
You'll be able to see the falls from the top of the waterfall and from the bottom if you're willing to make the trek down over some rocks (which you definitely should).
From the parking lot, you won't have to walk too much before you arrive at the falls' you'll probably be able to hear it as you make your way closer to it. The walk should only take you about 15-minutes from the lot, but the way down is so steep, it might take you a little longer.
The best time to see Ozone Falls is right after rainfall. Since this is a natural waterfall, if there is a dry spell, it will be a small trickling fall instead of a gushing one.
If you're in the market to find a few more waterfalls to explore in Tennessee you need to make your way to this park that has four waterfalls and multiple caves just on one trail and this trail that leads you to the clearest, blue water.
