We Southerners love our mountain tops and open plains; getting out into nature is a great way to pass the time. But doing so with the besties and your fave drink in hand makes those experiences that much better. The wine trails in Tennessee may just be the outing you and the girls need to mesh all of your fave things together. Did we mention you'll be surrounded by the the views of the Great Smoky Mountains too? #goals.
The Rocky Top Wine Trail is the perfect way to bring in the new year. Think of it as a bar crawl, but with better views and better drinks. You and your closest babes will start this trail in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and visit five wineries along the journey.
This trail offers over 70 different choices of wine so you really can go all out and try everything to your heart's content. Along this guided boozy trail, you'll be amongst the Smoky Mountains so the backdrop for all of your pics are sure to be epic.
On your adventures, you'll visit Mountain Valley Winery, Apple Barn Winery, Hillside Winery, Mill Bridge Winery and Doc Collier Moonshine Distillery (because nothing says "South" like a full mason jar of moonshine.)
You and your crew will also get an informative lesson on how wines and moonshines are made. You'll get a backstage pass and even giftcards along the trail so you're guaranteed to come back again.
The best part of this trail is it's 100% free. You can visit all five wineries and taste over 70 choices for zero dollars. This is pretty much a no brainer.
It's advised to not visit all the wineries in one day, to make it a multi-day fun fest, but whatever floats your boat. Just remember to pace yourself.
The wineries are open from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. so you have plenty of time to check out the views, grab some lunch and just enjoy your time with the crew.
