Tennessee is filled with a ton of beautiful spots for a mountain top adventure. What some might not know is that it also has some pretty incredible hiking trails that lead to a few surprises along the way. For the perfect summer adventure, you might just want to add hiking to this waterfall in Tennessee to your bucket list.

The Greeter Falls Loop in Altamont is one you'll never forget, with scenic forest views and three waterfalls waiting for you to discover them.

You'll find the trail located in South Cumberland State Park. Basically right around the corner from Chattanooga, you'll only have to drive about 45 minutes to an hour to get there, making it a great day trip destination.

The dense forests that will surround you on the hike will act as a cover from the Tennessee sun and offer some lush landscape views. You'll come across Boardtree Falls first, which will eventually lead you to the Upper and Lower Falls.

The Upper Falls are 15-feet tall, while the Lower Falls is a massive 50-foot free-falling waterfall. You don't even have to work too hard to see these incredible views — the hike is short and sweet, just shy of a mile long and ideal for intermediate trekkers.

The shimmering turquoise waters will practically beg you to dip your toes in, but swimming in the Upper Falls is not recommended due to strong currents that could pull you down.

A metal spiral staircase will take you down to the gorgeous Lower Falls. This waterfall is most mesmerizing after it rains and is at full flow.

You'll be surrounded by rock formations that perfectly frame the flowing water for the ultimate photo snap of your visit.

If you're looking to swim, a path off the main trail called Blue Hole Trail will lead you to a gorgeous swimming hole.

Greeter Falls Loop can get pretty busy in the summer, but there's generally always parking available even on the busiest days.

You can't beat these views on this hike, and this short trail is one that even your friend who hates hiking could enjoy.
