Finding places to relax on a day off is not too hard here in the metroplex, but when those places come with amazing views and refreshing waters, it makes it all so much better. Cedar Hill State Park has everything you'd want for an amazing day out. With a lake, farm and field of flowers, you'll never be short on spectacular views.

The park has Joe Pool Lake where you can fish, swim and go boating. You can also picnic by the lake for a peaceful time with amazing views. The park is also the perfect place to go for a bike ride as they have tons of trails you can choose from. With over 1,200 acres to bike or hike, you'll never get bored or feel like you're looking at the same thing twice.

If you're just not ready to give up all this beauty after one daytime visit, you can also camp overnight at the park. All their campsites are close to showers and restrooms so you won't have to wander too far. The campsites are all equipped with electricity so you'll have plenty of battery on your phone for the amazing selfies you'll want to take on the incredible lake and in the stunning forest. Their campsites are only $10 for a hike in, but if you want to bring your RV you can stay for $30. 

Walking around the park, you might find fields of gorgeous Texas wildflowers. You might also find an agricultural center that pays tribute to old Texas Family Farms. Visitors are more than welcome to take a look around the center's barn and you can many take breathtaking pictures in there. 

The park is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. On weekends they are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
