Vintage Texas homes can teach us lots about the history of the state and where we came from. Staying the night in these homes is so much better than just reading about them. The House of the Seasons is a breathtaking Victorian home in Jefferson that is open to the public for tours and doubles as a bed and breakfast. Visitors get to see the original paintings and furniture of the house along with its beautiful Victorian style gardens.
Guests of the vintage mansion turned B&B can enjoy several of the richest murals and a cupola. The cupola has stained glass at the very top that represents the four seasons of the year. Built all the way back in the 1870s, the house has had many people stop by, including several high profile Texas politicians. If you do decide to spend the night, there are various suites you can stay in.
One of those suites is called the Sam Houston to honor the friendship between the Houston himself and the owner of the house. The rooms have king sized beds, jacuzzis, private bathrooms, wifi and a 32-inch flat screen TV. The house was renovated so that you could have control of the temperature in your room which ensures you have the most pleasurable stay.
Staying at the house overnight costs around $180 depending on the room and night, but if you're not looking for a place to stay they also offer daytime tours. At just $10 per person, tours are offered Monday through Saturday and you don't have to make a reservation before heading over. Get ready to see some of the most beautiful and well-aged artifacts of the 1800s along with the liveliest and most gorgeous gardens around!
