One of the only things Texans want to do during the summer is cool off. Understandably so, as the temperature can go well over 90 most days. What better way to cool off than spending your day at a river? Not just any river though, the refreshing Frio River is located in Concan, Texas and has exactly what you need already in it's name.
You may have heard of Garner State Park, a paradise filled with everything from hiking to swimming. Hiking usually seems like a hassle in this heat, so more and more people are visiting locations such as these to focus on spending the entire day near and in the water. Frio River actually runs throughout this state park and boy, is there a lot to do there.
The river is massive so it's absolutely perfect for all of your favorite water activities. You can go tubing, jumping from rope swings, or just swim your heart out all day. Frio River is just as cool as it sounds and will make you forget all about the heat that seems to absorb us on the daily.
The entrance fee to the park is only $8, which includes parking. There's plenty of room right up against the actual river, so you won't have to walk far at all. Tube rentals can be found all over and if you need to stay the night there's tons of cute Airbnbs to choose from. Might as well plan for a couple of nights, because you and your friends will never want to leave!
