There's almost nothing better than seeing a small town you already adore, fully decorated for the holiday season. It's similar to the warm, fuzzy feeling you get when your own home is finally decorated. This December, the small town of Gruene, Texas will be completely decked out and covered in colorful lights, ultimately transforming it into a winter wonderland.
Within New Braunfels, which is just a short drive from San Antonio, lies Gruene, a town full of history, eating and shopping that's enough to draw anyone who catches a glimpse all the way in. If you're from Texas and not familiar by now, you definitely should be.
The annual Gruene Town Lighting is taking place on Saturday, December 7 and if you ask me that's more than enough of a reason to stop by, especially considering Cowboy Kringle will be there.
The Gruene Town Lighting will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and if you're looking to stick around, there's more than enough to do in the town both before and after. Be prepared, seeing Gruene lit up is one of the most magical experiences out there, and the lighting tends to draw massive crowds every year.
The Gruene Town Lighting itself is free to experience, so the more friends you invite, the merrier. They're also having a pop-up holiday market very soon, and it'll be filled with awesome gifts for your loved ones. October through December is truly the greatest time of the year.
