Imagine disappearing to an island and having a magical treehouse on it all to yourself. We could all use that sometimes and that's where this secluded spot comes to play. There's a treehouse in Orcas Island, Washington and it's as dreamy as it gets.
Tucked away in an oasis of peace and beauty with views of sparkling waters and Mount Baker, you can rent the Forest House for only $175 a night. It can house up to four people — that's only $43.75 per person if you decide to split the cost of this adventure with your friends.
It was formerly called the Hobbit House and it's not surprising to see why.
Built by the legendary Sunray Kelley, the house has beautiful cathedral-style windows that are mostly made up of natural materials. It looks out of a fairytale, so much so it'll make you think tree elves put it together.
It has a living area with a queen-sized bed, a room with a double bed, and an enchanting skylight for those nights you want to stargaze. The bathroom comes with a Japanese sunken tub that we've yet to see anywhere else.
There's even a kitchen equipped with cooking essentials, a cute copper sink, custom cherry-alder countertops, fridge, microwave, grill, and other electronic items for you to whip up some meals during your stay.
And the best part? These rooms are all located in separate towers that are connected to each other by a system of hallways, decks, and bridges! Magical? Totally.
With three separate decks, you can cozy up on either one with your boo.
The hidden abode comes with a comfy reading nook that can convert into an extra bed too.
You can also live the island life, go kayaking, fishing, boating, explore the town's pottery shops, or just listen to live music at the park.
The point is to cast away any plans and redefine what the word "relax" means. And this Middle Earth on an island is the perfect spot to do just that.
