You Can Float Down A 3.2 Km Lazy River Inside An Ancient Canyon Near Ontario This Spring

An unreal adventure!

Even though we're still in winter, doesn't mean it's too early to start planning for the spring! Soon enough the snow will thaw, the sun will shine again, and the flowers will be in full bloom. While we still have several more weeks of winter chill, this is the perfect time to start compiling your spring bucket list!

One thing that should be at the very top of your list is lazy river tubing at Ausable Chasm. This is a massive ancient canyon with a 3.2 km turquoise river running through it that has tons of outdoor activities for visitors to take part in.

Ausable Chasm is located just across the border in New York. It's about a 6-hour drive from Toronto, 3 hours from Ottawa, and 3 hours 45 minutes from Kingston. This spot has even been dubbed the 'Grand Canyon of the Adirondacks' because of how massive and expansive it is!

This spot is open in the winter months as well if you just can't wait to experience it until spring. But in the warmer months, there are even more activities to take part in like white water rafting, lazy river tubing, rock climbing, rappelling down rock walls, mountain biking through nearby forest trails, and more!

The cliffs of Ausable Chasm are actually made up of 5,000-year old sandstone making it a totally unique experience of floating through an ancient canyon! Their river tubing is probably the most popular activity since all you have to do is sit in a comfy tube and float along the turquoise water.

Basic admission to the canyon is required for every activity which costs $17.95 and an additional $12 is required for the tubing excursion. However, they offer packages that consolidate the price for you with their classic tours which include admission and a scenic float tour for just $29.95! You could also purchase the Premium Package which includes basic admission, a scenic float tour, and access to the adventure trail for $49.95.

If you want to experience more than just a day trip's worth of activities, they have campgrounds and cabins nearby which are available for rent so you can stay overnight!
