You Need To Visit This Gorgeous Lavender Farm Close To Vancouver This Spring
Get lost in a purple haze!
Bored of going to Vancouver Island or the Okanagan every summer? There's a magical place not too far from BC where you can immerse yourself in a floral fairytale. Imagine massive fields of purple, fragrant flowers blowing in the breeze coming off of the ocean! Washington Lavender Farm is surrounded by mountains and overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Trust us, the view is breathtaking.
This might be one of the most Instagram-worthy lavender farms ever. There's a purple bike in the field for you to pose with and the white colonial-style house in the background of these Instagram shots is beautiful.
A trip to the Washington Lavender Farm makes for a really exciting getaway from Vancouver or Victoria. You drive there from the lower mainland, but the more fun option is to take the ferries!
First, you take BC ferries to Victoria, and then in the inner harbour you go through US customs and take the Coho Ferry to Port Angeles! The Coho Ferry is so much fun and totally different from our BC Ferries. It's also a little bit retro and what a fun start to a mini road trip! You can either bring your car or rent one when you get to the States.
Washington Lavender Farm is located in Port Angeles, Washington. They're open from May through September from 10 AM to 5 PM daily with shorter hours on Sundays. Check out their website for more details and updates.
Lavender is usually in full bloom during the summer and it's worth checking out the Sequim Lavender Festival in July where you can see this and other lavender farms all around Port Angeles.
