If you're looking for the type of adrenaline rush that will awaken your inner kid and make you feel like Tarzan, then Treetop Trekking near Toronto just might be for you. With zip lines, cables, Tarzan swings, suspended bridges, and swinging logs, there really is no better way to adventure through the forest this fall. Even better, this crazy treetop adventure is only about an hour outside of the city, making it the perfect easy day trip.

In addition to the zip lines and other courses, you can also explore a series of colourful tree houses in the Treewalk Village. Located at Binbrook Conservation Area in Hamilton, Treetop Trekking needs to be put on your adventure bucket list ASAP.

If running through the treetops on swinging cables sounds a little too crazy for you, don't worry. Treetop Trekkings Director of Marketing Mike Stiell tells Narcity that every safety precaution is taken.

"No previous experience or special equipment is required, we provide everything and every tour starts with a 20-minute safety orientation where our guides show you how to use your equipment and move safely through the aerial park," says Stiell.

In fact, nervous Trekkers tend to be the best to work with, Stiell says.

"Our guides will tell you that one of the most rewarding parts of their job is when someone who is nervous or afraid is able to step out of their comfort zone and do something that maybe they never thought they would be able to do."

Anyone can stroll through the colourful Treewalk Village with relative ease, but as you continue onward, each treetop course increases slightly in difficulty, meaning there is something for all skill levels, Stiell explains.

"Our park in Hamilton really has activities for all ages. The Zipline & Aerial Game Treks (ages 9 to adult) are spread out over five different aerial courses, ranging from beginner to advanced, like a ski hill. So we have everyone start with the beginner level and then gradually work their way up to the harder ones if they want."

After you've completed the course, there is so much more to see and enjoy at Binbrook Conservation area.

"When people are done their activity with us, the Conservation Area also has a splash pad, beach, wakeboard cable park, kayak and SUP rentals, hiking trails, and more," adds Stiell.

However, the importance of protecting the conservation area can't be stressed enough.

"A lot of planning in regards to protecting the environment went into the development of the park, and preventing any negative impact on the natural environment is central to everything we do," Stiell says. "We want to give people a fun and memorable way to experience nature, while not harming it. Our hope is that people will go home with a renewed appreciation for nature."

You are encouraged to bring a drink or a light snack to nibble on in between courses, although it's important to remember that you're in a conservation area and littering is not permitted. There are also snacks available for sale.

Treetop Trekking has six courses located throughout Ontario and another five in Quebec. Each course offers different adventures, like the night-time trek in the Brampton location. The Hamilton course will stay open until Oct. 31.
