The Sunshine State is often making news headlines for one disappointing thing or another, and today it has done it again. Florida was ranked as the 2nd most sinful state in the USA according to Wallethub.
Wallethub analyzed data among all 50 states to rank them on a scale of 1-50 (1 being the most sinful and 50 being the least). Some of the criteria was based on crime rates, bullying incidents, alcoholism, porn searches, beauty salons per capita, and other things that could be compared to the seven deadly sins: Anger & Hatred, Jealousy, Excesses & Vices, Greed, Lust, Vanity and Laziness.
Unsurprising for most, Florida followed only behind the home of Sin City itself - Nevada. Florida also ranked the #1 most jealous state. Jealousy was ranked according to Thefts per Capita, Identity-Theft Complaints per Capita, and Fraud & Other Complaints per Capita.
Apparently, Florida is also highly vain.
Nevada, Florida, California, and Texas rank the most sinful, while Nebraska, North Dakota, Maine, and Vermont rank the least sinful.
The site made a short video to explain their rankings:
This news does not seem to come as much of a surprise to Floridians. One reader writes, "Not surprised in Florida's placement at all."
