Single and ready to mingle? If you are in Florida you couldn't be in a more single-friendly place, according to WalletHub. Florida has been ranked as the #1 state for singles based on Florida's nightlife, restaurants, and dating destinations.

WalletHub compared the 50 states based on 28 indicators of dating-friendliness and Florida came out as number one out of all 50 states. Their list was determined by different key list factors, such as dating economics, dating opportunities, and romance opportunities.

They broke down these indicators into metrics such as the number of single adults, gender balance between men and women, coffee, and beer prices, crime rate and nightlife per capita.  Florida beat out competition California, Texas, New York, and Pennsylvania, which makes up the top five of the list.

Florida had the highest number of restaurants per capita and it placed eighth in the most movie theaters per capita. Interestingly, Florida only came in the middle of the list when it came to online or mobile dating opportunities. From WalletHub's list, Florida is the epicenter of going out and socializing, that's where it's strength in the dating world lies.

Last year, WalletHub also released a list of the best and worst cities for singles, where they ranked 180 U.S. cities across similar indicators that they used for the states. Tampa ranked at #29 and Orlando, Florida followed close behind at #30.

Many cities in Florida offer nightlife and activities that support the single population, especially in South Florida. From Wynwood to South Miami, from art walks to nightclubs, there's something for everyone to enjoy and possibly find love along the way.

According to WalletHub experts, singles should consider these indicators when choosing a place to live, dating opportunities, the cost of dating, and the number of single adults in the state. And with Florida's top rating on the list, the state is definitely a viable option for singles looking for love.

At the bottom of WalletHub's list, West Virginia is the worst state for singles, along with Arkansa, North Dakota, and Wyoming.
