Miami Is Hosting The World’s Only Croquetas Eating Contest Next Weekend
Miamians will compete for El Croquetazo eating contest.
The Magic City is known for the 3:05 colada afternoon pick-me-up. But, a good colada goes well with some croquetas. Miami is hosting the world's only croquetas eating contest this weekend and it will get messy.
Do you want to show the city how much you love croquetas? Then this is your chance to participate in El Croquetazo and win some prizes. El Croquetazo is presented at the Carnaval's Miami Calle Ocho and it's a one-of-a-kind event. If you want to spend your afternoon eating croquetas you can apply for the contest here.
This event is so Miami and you won't believe how much croquetas contestants can eat. In 2017, the winner, Carmen Cincotti ate 158 croquetas in eight minutes. Currently, she holds the world record. If you think you can beat that number, then you should definitely join the contest. The event will take place on March 8th at 4:00 pm in Calle Ocho.
This will be the third annual croquetas eating contest and you'll have to be faster than Carmen to win the prize. Joey Chestnut will compete for the first time at this event, and the United Kingdom is sending its #1-ranked competitive eater, Adam
Moran, to challenge Joey. This will be a very competitive eating contest. There are five winning prizes:
1st - $1,750
2nd - $900
3rd - $500
4th - $250
5th - $100
This is Miamians' favorite finger food and an event you can't miss. Even if you don't participate, you can watch the contestants gobble down this delicious appetizer.
El Croquetazo is an event every foodie should attend.
