Your Florida expedition guide needs to include a botanical garden. Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens is a true botanical paradise and a hidden haven your eyes won't believe.
The gardens opened to the public about five years ago and it continues to expand with different fish ponds, scenic features, and new garden displays. The 54-acre paradise is home to many exotic plants and magnificent woods surrounded by Oaks, Cedars, Pines, Pecans, Hickories, and Dogwoods. It has a very Japanese-inspire touch, which you can read about here.
This paradise is also home to many animals such as cats, a couple of dogs, a pair of swans, several ducks and pheasants, a goose, a squirrel, a Galah cockatoo, numerous Koi fish, and a 100 lb blue catfish named Big Ben.
If you're looking for the perfect spot to do a picnic and enjoy the view, this is the spot. Cedar Lakes is open every day to the public except Wednesday from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. Admission to the gardens cost $12 for adults and $7 for children. For more information about their schedule click here.
Even though this place is man-made, it's probably the most unique spot to take beautiful whimsical photos. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed since it opened to the public. Sometimes alligators frequent the area.
Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens is located at 4990 NE 180th Ave, Williston, FL, 32696.
This destination is known to experience flooding, calling beforehand is always recommended.
