How many hot dogs can you gobble in 10 minutes? America's favorite food contest is coming to Florida - Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest will be more competitive than ever.
The world's top competitive eaters will unite at Marlins Park on April 20th to compete for a seat at the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island on July 4th. The eating contest will start at 5 pm on Marlins Park and contestants will have to eat faster than Joey Chestnut to break the world record.
Currently, Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo are the currents champions and top eaters. He broke the Coney Island record with 74 hot dogs in 2018. Miki Sudo ate 41 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
This eating contest is so serious that is broadcast on ESPN and it receives over 40,000 fans each year. But if you're still wondering how these eating stars can eat so much food in 10 minutes, they have their tricks.
According to Nathan's Famous website, contestants stretch their stomachs for the main event by drinking gallons of milk or water very quickly. They also eat a lot of fibrous foods like watermelon and oatmeal in a matter of minutes.
