American Horror Story: Asylum was by far the creepiest season in a show packed with creepy and cover-your-eyes moment. Now, imagine being trapped just like Sarah Paulson. Eeeek. Well, that's exactly what happens at one of Florida's creepiest escape rooms.
Lakeland Escape Room features 4 unique escape rooms, each pitting your survival against the clock. In Asylum, you're sent undercover into Willowbrook State Insane Asylum to find out what happened to a coworker. Once there, you discover that the staff is conducting murderous research. You have just an hour to escape before the doctor returns to conduct ... experiments.
This is the disturbing storyline:
"You are a journalist covering a story at Willowbrook State Insane Asylum where your coworker recently went missing trying to conduct an interview. Suddenly, while visiting the asylum, you get a phone call. It’s your boss.
His message is clear. GET OUT as soon as possible. The patients aren’t the problem here…it’s the doctor on staff! He has been keeping healthy people locked up to perform “research” on healthy brains.
The doctor has stepped out for 60 minutes. Can you find your coworker and escape before the doctor makes you both his newest patients?"
Tickets are $28.00 per person. You can book your tickets here.
If you're an escape room newbie, this one might not be the best start for you. Lakeland Escape Room lists the difficulty of this room at "intermediate." And, if you manage to survive the horrors of Asylum and are looking for an even greater challenge, there is also Split and Coffee Cartel—both recommended for experienced players.
Lakeland Escape Room is open Tuesday through Thursday 4:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Fridays, 4:30 p.m. until midnight, Saturdays, 11:00 a.m to midnight, and Sundays, 12:00 p.m– 8:00 p.m. Monday they are open by appointment only.
Unless you have eight people for a private booking, you might be paired up with other people.
Open for about two years, Asylum is Lakeland Escape Room's latest puzzle.
