Netflix Is Opening A Secret Pop-Up Bar In Austin This Weekend
A 1930's themed speakeasy bar by Netflix to open in Austin.
The insanely popular streaming company Netflix is opening their own 1930's themed speakeasy for a limited time during SXSW. The secret bar will be on the iconic Rainey Street in downtown Austin at Banger's basement bar on March 9th, 11th, and 12th. The exciting new bar will transport its visitors to the 30s with an amazing interactive experience and old fashioned Texan themed drinks.
Access to the hidden speakeasy will be free for everyone, even non-SXSW pass holders. The immersive bar is going to be themed after a classic 1930s speakeasy in honor of the release of their new movie Highwaymen, which is based on two Texans and was created by a Texan director.
There will also be featured artists attending the event every day to include Durand Jones and the Indications, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, and Jessica Pratt. Along with these headliners will be surprise special guests, so don't be alarmed if Woody Harrelson or director John Lee Hancock make an appearance!
The full bar menu will feature an impressive list of classic and specialty cocktails by local bar owner Tory Nelson. Expect plenty of tequila, a variety of flavored bitters, every type of rum, tons of lime, and the restaurant’s own specialty hot honey.
You can RSVP for the unique 1930's themed event and bar through Netflix's creatively customized website. While you're on the site, you can also explore through their engaging experience of finding clues and unlocking the mysteries of the movie alongside the main characters.
The Netflix Highwaymen secret bar will transport you into a speakeasy based on the movie that will be filled with immersive activities and interactive experiences you absolutely cannot miss out on!
The Netflix Highwaymen speakeasy will be located at Banger's basement bar at 81 1/2 Rainey Street, Austin TX.
