This Giant Austin Parking Lot Will Be Transformed Into A Skating Rink This Weekend
A free roller rink will be popping up in Austin this weekend.

This year's crazy SXSW is going to be featuring a free roller skating rink in downtown Austin! A giant open lot on 5th street will be completely transformed into a roller disco party that you will not want to miss. The four day event will have tons of roller skating, flowing happy hour drinks, DJs and a party bus on site.
The transformed parking lot is located a block down from the Austin Convention Center, right in the center of downtown. Guests can roller skate the night way to the best party hits while surrounded by the incredible Austin skyline. The event will have pop up merch booths, possible surprise guests, and tons of dancing.
The retro roller rink will have nightly happy hours where skaters can enjoy drinks while they boogie the night away. From 1 pm to 5 pm the venue will be for ages 18 plus and for happy hour from 6 pm to 9 pm the venue will only allow ages 21 plus. Come for a chill night out with good drinks, great music, and your incredible roller skating skills.
Surprise celebrity guests may make appearances throughout the four-day pop-up for signings and interviews with the Viceland hosts! There will be so many exciting surprises during this fun, unique outdoor roller rink event.
Entrance to the pop-up roller rink is completely free for all visitors. If you don't have your own, there are roller skates are on site for rental. Drinks and merch will also be available for your purchase if you desire.
The Viceland Skateland will be located at the Carmelo's parking lot on 504 E 5th St, Austin at Red River. Street and lot parking is available across downtown, but you will want to get there early to get a spot, or maybe just call an Uber.
