Dallas is known for its BBQ, tacos, and food trucks. And, of course, steakhouses. Basically, if its meat and heat, everybody knows Dallas does it right. But a day without dessert? Well, is that even a day.
Whether you want to beat the heat with cool treats or just beat your record of ice cream flavors consumed in one week, we've got you covered.
Bing Box Dallas
Until they opened up this location you had to go to New York to get Bing Box. Here, they serve up a modern twist on Korean shaved ice. They have flavors like matcha, mango, and honeydew as well as staples like chocolate and strawberry.
Once you pick your ice, you get to load up on toppings of your choice. It's a lot lighter than ice cream so you don't even have to waste a cheat day.
Otto's Coffee and Fine Foods
Basically, you need to come here for the waffles. They even have cute little packaging so can pretend that you eat your treats delicately.
What's better than cake? Um, maybe cake covered in donuts, candy, and everything else that deserves to be its own food group. Goodies basically takes everything made of sugar and happiness and puts it on delicious cakes.
The crazy part? All their cakes still look like IG candy.
Steel City Pops
If you feel yourself in a healthy mood or trying to look good in a hideous bridesmaid dress than Steel City Pops has you covered. Their healthy, all-natural pops are delish and won't make your Fitbit give you that dirty look. I know you watch everything I do.
I CE NY
The ice cream store with the strange spelling has been serving up rolled ice cream for a little over a year. If you've never had rolled ice cream before basically they thinly put the ice cream on a super cold piece of rock (basically my ex's heart) and they scrape it up into cute little rolls.
If you put fruit on it then it's basically a parfait. I can eat that for breakfast. Right?
Dallas Caramel Company
Sometimes you find yourself not craving chocolate. For those rare occasions, why not eat some caramel. And chocolate. Take a box of Dallas Caramel's Company's caramels for the road and see if they make it the ride home. Narrator: They did not make the ride home.
Sometimes you just want a little big slice of classic American food. And what's more traditional than pie? Lots of it, that's what. Norma's pies taste as good as they look. Life is short. I will eat dessert first.
Milk • Cream
If ice cream had a spirit animal it would probably be Milk and Cream's donut ice cream sandwiches. Come to think of it? Why can't that be my spirit animal?
The donuts and ice cream complete each other better than Jerry McGuire and Renée Zellweger.
Great One Cookie Company
I think deep inside we are all not-so-secretly Cookie Monster. Who doesn't want to eat and talk about cookies all day? You're going to want to go to the Great One Cookie Company more than once to try all the different flavors. They also have limited-time flavors so you have an excuse to go year round. Thank you Cookie Company.
Lewisville's Earnest Donuts combines like the two best foods in the world—sushi and donuts. How cute is that? Their speciality flavors include Butterfinger, matcha, s'mores, and red velvet.
Head up to Frisco to experience the out of this world drinks at the unique Zero Degrees. Billing themselves as Asian-Hispanic fusion, they have drinks and great eats.
Try their spicy watermelon drink. They do a great job of combining sweet and heat. It's basically like drinking Channing Tatum's smile. Anyways.
Just a hop, skip, and a jump north lies the treasure that is Sweet Lab in nearby Carrollton. You know, I'm becoming convinced that every drink should have a dessert on top.
Miss Naughty Brownies
This Dallas-based online brownie store has something for everyone. Maybe that's why they let you build your own sample box. While they ship to anywhere in the US, yet another perk of living in Dallas is that they will deliver brownies to your door. Ding, dong. I have brownies. Can I come in? Um, yeah.
Check out and see if they have any popups happening by clicking here. Keep in mind you can always order online.
You are getting hungry...you are getting hungry...you want to buy all the donuts. Hypnotic Donuts are...well...hypnotic. Even in this #everybodyjumpingonthedonutbandwagon world they manage to stand out.
Sweet Daze Dessert Bar
Can't decide if you want a cool drink or a sweet treat? Sweet Daze Dessert Bar has you covered. They put delish treats on top of drinks. Now, that's a compromise I can get behind. They also sell donuts and cakes.
Located in the Dallas Farmer's Market, Dallas is one of the few cities which has its own Cool Haus location. This growing company got their big break when they headed to Coachella. How's that for boho ice cream? And if you don't feel like washing your hair, you can also get their ice cream in a lot of grocery stores these days.
They have some out there flavor combos like balsamic fig & marscapone, beer &pretzels, chicken & waffles, and foie gras and PB&J. Not feeling so adventurous? Then try the froot loops cereal milk or mimosa.
Rose House Desserts
This dessert place specializes in shaved icy treats made with fresh fruits. They're best known for their honeydew ice and watermelon ice. So, looks you like have to go at least twice. Pro-tip: to avoid brain freeze eat it with a warm drink.
They also have refreshing drinks for those Texas summers. Their drink flavors include passionfruit green tea and honey citrus green tea.
Another great place if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth and your trainer at the same time. Some of their treats are less than a 100 calories. So, its basically like eating a really cold salad. At least that's what I tell myself.
Lanae Got Cakes
According to their website, "you can't be mad while holding dessert in your hand." Not only do their cupcakes look delish, you can even get them with Patron and Ciroc for some pre-cupcaking before you hit the town.
And if you don't feel like eating a whole cake then you can grab one of their cupcake cups.
