Pickleball, for those who may not know, is a paddle sport that resembles a mixture of badminton and tennis. You can play pickleball in pairs of 2 or 4 on courts that look like a miniature version of a Tennis court. Chicken N Pickle will open 11 courts at their San Antonio location and will allow their guests to reserve spots and equipment on any night of the week. You can even join a local pickleball league!
There are multiple courts and tons of space for playing outdoor sports, tons of delicious food on the menu and an array of popular drinks at their bar. They provide tons of space for different outdoor sports and games such as cornhole, yoga and even giant battleship!
The new Chicken N Pickle will also have a massive restaurant featuring their wood-fired rotisserie chicken, sandwiches, salads, and snacks. They offer a delicious brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays.
Being a sports bar, Chicken N Pickle offers over 25 different beers on draft and bottled, from locally sourced to international beers. They also serve a variety of seasonal cocktails and wines to satisfy everyone's tastes. Their cocktails go for $9 to $11 and beers go from $4 to $7, unless you head to Happy Hour for their great discounted prices.
Pickleball courts are open for rental with a reservation cost of $20 per hour on Monday through Friday mornings and $40 per hour any other time. There will always be at least 2 open courts for on the spot free play for those who haven't reserved a spot but still want to play. Prices for open play are $2 per person. They also offer private lessons and beginner clinics for those interested in becoming pickleball pros.
The new Chicken N Pickle will be located at the intersection of UTSA Blvd and Vance Jackson Rd. Construction will begin this month and completion is predicted to be sometime in Fall 2019.
