Lots of restaurants give it a go each year and 2016 has had its fair share, but there are a few that have stood out. Not only is food and service important, but it is also really nice to have the option to enjoy your meal with a nice alcoholic beverage. Wednesday through Sunday this new and exciting pop-up patio restaurant dishes out some fancy food at an affordable price. Hidden stories above the busy streets allows for an elegant dining experience. Happy hour at the cocktail bar from 5 to 7pm. Brunch and music on Sundays.

Kozakura // 280 Carrall Street

Kappo-style Japanese food with a seasonal menu and local ingredients. The atmosphere is a mix between contemporary and traditional. The style of cuisine served is 100 years old so you're in for a treat as your tastebuds travel through time.

Meet (in Gastown) // 12 Water St

Meet on Main opened a second location in Gastown after seeing so much success on Main Street. If you want to eat healthy while enjoying the taste of comfort foods, this is the joint. As a vegetarian eatery, you'll be pleasantly surprised at what is on the menu.

Anh and Chi // 3388 Main St

Authentic Vietnamese with a hip vibe. A passionate display of culture and cuisine. They offer both classic and new dish inspired by the staple foods found on the streets of Vietnam. Open daily with excellent service.

The Tuck Shoppe // 237 Union St

Not too many sandwich shops where you can wash down your meal with fresh local beer on tap. They serve an extensive list of sandwiches, salads and snacks, along side refreshing craft beer, wine and cider. When it comes time to grab a sandwich for lunch, you should really give this place a try!
