If you're the type of person who is always super excited for Christmas (and honestly, who isn't?), then we have amazing news for you. Summer is almost over and once winter hits, we all know that the holiday season is what everyone's looking forward to. Are you the type of person who listens to Christmas music and watches holiday movies in the fall? Cause like, same.
Christmas is a magical season that comes with some of the absolute cutest festivities. From snow activities like sledding and snowshoeing to holiday food and drinks like mulled wine and adorable Christmas markets, there's no shortage of fun and festive things to do during the holidays in Canada.
But we do have to admit, one of the most popular activities of all during the holiday season is the beautiful light displays that Christmas has to offer. Because Canadian cities knows how to make the holiday lights as beautiful and extravagant as ever, and this upcoming winter will be no different. You'll feel like you're in a holiday movie and that Christmas is really all around (cue Love Actually).
One of the world's biggest light displays came to BC last year, and the hype was seriously real. So unsurprisingly, this year the creators are bringing it back to the city. Glow Gardens has officially announced that it is coming back once again for the 2018 holiday season and that it will be bigger and better than ever. And this year, it's not only coming to Vancouver, but other cities across Canada.
Christmas Glow will be back in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Barrie, Ontario this year from November 22, 2018 to January 19, 2019. This marks the festival's first ever debut in Alberta and Ontario and second year in BC. There will be over a half million lights to be dazzled by. In Vancouver, the festival will be back bigger than before, doubling in size. There will also be all new playgrounds, themes and market space.
This indoor light festival will have so many of the Christmas festivities you wanted and more. There will be several light gardens, a Christmas market with dozens of vendors, illuminated sculptures and tons of food and drinks, a musical light tunnel with over 50,000 lights and tons more! There's even a bar if you want some drinks to go along with your experience.
You can already buy tickets for Christmas Glow now to secure your chance to see all those Christmas lights. According to Glow, last year most of the dates had already sold out online in advance. Tickets cost $22.99 for adults if you buy online, with an approximate $2 price increase if bought on site.
And if you can't wait until Christmas to see hundreds of thousands of beautiful twinkling lights all around you, we're happy to tell you that you don't. Glow Gardens is also having a huge indoor fall light festival in Vancouver called Glow Harvest, which is brand new to Vancouver and the largest one in the city, this month. The event is held in the same location as the holiday one, so you'll be able to get a taste of Glow Christmas before it happens.
Harvest Glow will have tons of fall festivities, such as an indoor pumpkin patch, corn maze, mini golf and more. For Harvest Glow, you can buy tickets online and right now, you can even save 30 percent on tickets with the code "harvest30" at checkout on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. The sale ends September 25th, so if you want your discount, better hurry on over to the website here.
